Linda who used to live and work at the Longford Essoldo Stretford along with her entire family until it closed as a cinema has sent in some more pictures. These accompany an earlier set in an article here from employees who were in situ when the building went from cinema to bingo. This is the first time these new images have been published online.

great photos, I remember it well I was a trainee projectionist there when it closed as a cinema in 1965.
the last weeks film was The Hill, starring Sean Connery, the chief projectionist was Jim Pass.
I’ve bought and refurbished some cinema seats out of there. My missus is fond of the art deco period. We didn’t realise at first! But on further inspection it actually says ESSOLDO on the chair leg.
