As all eyes for UA92 seemed to have been drawn towards the other end of Trafford for the time being, this publication from the excellent Cinema Theatre Association (well worth the yearly subscription) is worth a read.

For 15 years, the Essoldo Cinema Circuit ruled the roost in Stretford and this short book gives a thorough account of the trials, tribulations, prim and not always so proper ways that the family behind this company kept Britain’s short lived third largest cinema chain afloat. We don’t know a huge amount factually about what came before or after but this publication is really insightful and easy to read.  You can buy it here (issue 31)
